The Seminary, Immaculate Conception, Ahiaeke, is a minor Seminary. It is a diocesan seminary, which belongs to the Catholic Diocese of Umuahia in Nigeria. The building of the seminary blocks started in 1960. The seminary itself was officially inaugurated the same year immediately after the completion of the first temporary building, which do not exist today, as an Institution to help the then just created Catholic diocese of Umuahia (erected in 1958) to establish a solid local Presbyterium as well as to train good Christians, who will take up leadership roles in the society in general and people who would become good ambassadors of our Lord Jesus Christ and of the Catholic Church in the decision making bodies of the society.
